Looking After Your NHS Dental Registration

Did you know that in order to keep your NHS dental registration at Fairfield House Dental Surgery, you need to attend regularly?

A number of patients forget to make regular visits to see their dentist.

Due to the high number of people wishing to receive NHS dental treatment and the long waiting lists, we have no choice but to de-register patients who have not attended for an appointment for 2 years. The exact date is regularly updated and can be found behind reception.

We try to remind patients when they are due for an appointment, but ultimately, it is the responsibility of patients to ensure they attend on a regular basis.

If a patient fails to attend, or a child is not brought to their booked dental appointment at Fairfield, due to the waste of precious clinical time, Fairfield reserve the right to refuse any further appointment bookings.

If a treatment appointment of 40 minutes or longer is missed, the patient will be de-registered from our NHS patient list. If a patient fails to attend or cancels at short notice a total of two appointments, they will be de-registered from our NHS list.

If a patient fails to attend their initial appointment at the practice this will not be able to rebooked under the NHS and only a private appointment can be offered.

What to do to keep your NHS registration?

Always attend any booked appointments or cancel the appointment with more than one working days’ notice.
Make sure you book your next dental examination before you leave the practice.

Ensure you update any changes to your contact address, email, or telephone numbers.

De-Registered Patients

Once you have been removed from our NHS patient list, you are no longer able to receive NHS dental treatment at our practice.

Patients can then register and be seen on a private basis here at Fairfield. Alternatively, to join the waiting list for a NHS dental practice, they must call 0333 0063 300.
